The Real Estate Appraiser, Senior position is responsible for appraising 5+ unit multi-family residential and/or commercial properties to estimate market value for federally related financial transactions in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act (FIRREA), the Interagency Guidelines as well as the firm’s internal guidelines and quality assurance standards. Strong analytical, writing and oral communication skills are required. Minimum requirements include: 1) 4 year college degree; 2) State Certified General Appraiser License; and 3) minimum of 3 years’ experience appraising multi-family residential or commercial properties. Significant experience appraising for financial institutions is preferred.

Sacramento County’s Office of the Assessor is recruiting candidates for the advanced-journey and/or lead level Senior Real Property Appraiser position.  Appraisers in this position perform a wide variety of assessment and appraisal duties to determine the fair value of, and assess taxes on, improved and unimproved properties. Real properties include, but are not limited to agricultural, marine, residential, commercial, industrial, multi-use, unique and specialized properties and open space lands.  The Senior Real Property Appraiser also reviews the work of others, and concurrently provides training and mentoring to less experienced appraisers. Approximate Monthly Salary: $6,578.94 – $7,997.04.
