Chapter Leadership
The Board of Directors, officers, committees, and past presidents who guided the Sacramento Sierra Chapter's vision and operations.
Chapter leadership is built on a foundation of volunteer service and professional dedication. Members who step into board and officer roles bring decades of real estate valuation experience, offering guidance that shapes the chapter's educational programming, advocacy efforts, and community outreach. These leaders work collaboratively to ensure that every initiative aligns with the Institute's core values of ethics, standards, and professional excellence, while also addressing the unique needs of appraisers practicing across Northern California.
The committee structure is the lifeblood of chapter operations, with volunteers lending their expertise to everything from event planning and newsletter production to membership engagement and government relations. Each committee operates with a clear sense of purpose, supported by the board's strategic direction. This distributed leadership model allows more members to participate in meaningful ways, building a pipeline of future officers while ensuring that the chapter's work continues without interruption even during times of transition.
Past presidents remain an invaluable resource long after their terms conclude, offering institutional memory and mentorship to newly elected leaders. Their perspective on how the chapter has evolved over the years helps guide decisions about programming, partnerships, and resource allocation. This continuity between successive leadership teams ensures that long-term goals, such as professional development offerings and community visibility, are pursued consistently rather than being reset with each new administration.
The chapter's leadership recognizes that strong governance benefits every member, from designated MAI and SRA professionals to affiliates and those newly entering the field. By fostering open communication, transparent decision-making, and a welcoming atmosphere, leaders help ensure that all voices are heard. This inclusive approach strengthens the chapter's ability to serve its members, advance the appraisal profession, and provide practical solutions to the real estate challenges facing the wider community.
